How Does Electrolysis Work?

The electrologist inserts a sterile disposable filament into a natural opening in the skin, called the hair follicle. An electrical impulse is applied for a millisecond to eradicate the hair's regenerative cells.

 

Is Electrolysis Painful?

While a painless electrolysis treatment does not exist, the mild discomfort is definitely worth it for the dramatic and long-lasting result. Clients have described the sensation as similar to that of a slight heat, tingling or sting for a fraction of a second.

Important Aftercare Treatments

Once we have finished the procedure, there are some very important skin-care steps that you will have to perform to ensure the best results. Trui will be available to provide expert post-care treatment and answer any questions you may have.

 

What You Need to Know:

• The treated follicle stays open for approximately three days after the procedure

• Avoid touching the area to prevent infection or whiteheads

• Cleanse the treated area with alcohol

• Use ice to close the follicle for 10-15 minutes to help reduce swelling

• Apply anti-bacterial cream or ointment twice a day (morning and evening) for three days post treatment

• Avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds (UV exposure) for three days after treatment
